What do I need to have when I register for MyBills? 
You will need to have a copy of your bill in order to obtain your customer # and account #. This is located at the top part of your regular bill. If you have a Disconnection Notice, then your customer number is the first set of numbers and is 8 digits in length, including all leading zeros, and your account number is located after the dash and is 7 digits in length, including all leading zeros. 

How can I make a payment through QuickPay?

What do I do if I forgot my password?
You will need to click on the Forgot Password? hyperlink directly below the Login fields on the MyBills homepage. You will be prompted to enter your username. Your password will be sent to the email address you provided during registration. Be advised username and passwords are case-sensitive. Please allow 5 to 10 minutes to receive the email.

What do I do if I forgot my username?
You will need to contact MPU Customer Service at 956.681.1600 to speak to a representative. They will provide you with your username so that you may retrieve your password online.

How do I update my email address?
Once you are logged in to MyBills, click on “Update Profile” in the navigation menu on the left side of the page. Enter your new email address and then click Update.

How do I update my password?
Once you are logged in to MyBills, click on “Update Profile” in the navigation menu on the left side of the page. Then click on Manage Password. You will need to provide your current password as well as your new password. Click on Change Password.

How do I register or unregister for Paperless Billing?
Once you are logged in to MyBills, click on “Update Profile” in the navigation menu on the left side of the page. Then click on Manage Profile. Click “True” to sign up for Paperless billing. Click “False” to remove Paperless Billing. You will need to register each account individually if you have multiple accounts and repeat this step. Once registered for E-bill, you will have access to view or print your bills online for all future billing. 

What other type of payment methods do you accept?
MPU accepts cash, checks, money orders, cashier’s checks at the Customer Relations office at City Hall. Payments can also be made via phone with credit or debit cards and echecks ($2.75 convenience fee per transaction will apply for either) A night deposit box is available at City Hall for after hours payments-checks only, no cash. You may also mail your payment to: McAllen Public Utility P.O. Box 280 McAllen, TX 78505. Please ensure your payment arrives before the disconnect notice due date since we are not held responsible for non-delivery by the Post Office. Click

Can I change the due date of my bill?
No. Utility billing dates and due dates are set according to the location, and cannot be changed. MPU reads meters and bills customers according to their cycle. Therefore, all customers billed within the same cycle will have the same due date. You may, however, register for Automatic Payment to help you get your bill paid on time. Contact our Customer Service Representatives at 956.681.1600 to inquire or register online.

How do I enroll for Automatic Payment?
Once you are logged in to MyBills, click on “Edit Auto Pay” in the navigation menu on the left side of the page. Auto Pay may take one billing cycle to become effective. Once Auto Pay is effective, the amount of your bill will be drafted on the due date of the bill. This payment method is free and guarantees that your payment will always be on time. You will need to register each account individually if you have multiple accounts.
